I’m Nancy Toruno! A proud mom of two little ones and a lifelong educator who’s spent over 13 years creating fun and engaging learning experiences. I was born in New Orleans, LA, but I’ve also called Chicago, Tampa, and Miami home. I speak English, Spanish, and a little French, and I absolutely love helping kids discover the joy of language.

I started Yellow Shark Books to connect with my children, spark their love of reading, and help them celebrate their American identity alongside their Hispanic and French roots. As an author and illustrator, I’m passionate about bringing stories to life, guided by empathy, creativity, and love.
